Of Thunormore Earldom and its people and customs

    By Bragi Hornclaw

    Introduction

I am writing this on the behalf of the earl and the Grand University of Thunormore. The history of the thunari people is unfortunately not as well-known as it should. Our gradual evolvement from a nomadic lifestyle without written records to a civilised folk with our own university has been a long one, and now that our oral traditions are withering it is time to put into writing what we have been told from generation to generation. My family, the Hornclaws have for generations been known for our skalds and excellent memory, and it is for this reason I have been picked out to write down the stories of old. I vow here and now to write them down as exact as humanly possible. The stories I am to write here now have been told to me by my father Eyvindr Hornclaw, and him by his father Eigill Hornclaw, and him by his father Ottar Hornclaw, and him by his father Einarr Hornclaw and him by his father Tindor Hornclaw, and so on.
